MCA has assured to form a high-level committee to look into regulation 39(4).
CA Praveen Sharma, one of the faculties leading the agitation, appealed to students to call off the protest for now.
As earlier reported, due to discrepancies in the evaluation of answer sheet in past CA exams and especially in exams held in June 2019, thousands of CA students have been protesting at headquarters of ICAI at different cities since 23rd Sept.
After 4 days of protest and after meeting representatives from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) they got some hope. MCA has assured that a high power committee will be formed to analyse the regulation 39(4) and will submit the report on the same. Students were protesting to demand the said regulation to get the right to re-evaluation of their answer sheet.
Meanwhile, according to CA Praveen Sharma, one of the faculties leading the agitation, he along with 5-6 other CAs have conditionally surrendered their CA memberships with the ICAI to ensure that the committee is formed and report on regulation 39(4) is submitted with ICAI. Furter in his video message via his YouTube channel he also appealed to students to call off the protest for now and wait for approx one and a half month for committee report and if the report does not come he will again start the protest again.
