The rape case against ex-union minister and Ex-BJP MP Chinmayanad has taken another turn. now the rape victim is taken into custody by the SIT formed under Honourable Supreme Court direction on the charges of extortion of 5cr.

The extortion case was filed against her along with her three male friends. The student featured as the fourth name among the accused in the case — she was listed as "Miss A" — in a single-page press release issued by the SIT, whose chief Naveen Arora said they had prima facie evidence of her involvement, reported by The Hindu.

As per the victim, the UP police refused to register a rape case against Chinmayanad so she had to file the case in Delhi.

After his arrest on Friday, Chinmayanand, sent to judicial custody, was booked under section 376C of the IPC, which is usually applied in cases where a person abuses his position to "induce or seduce" a woman under his charge to have "sexual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape".
